CNN 141205-Philippines Bracing for Super-Typhoon

Our first story takes you to the Pacific Island nation of Philippines.

첫 번째 소식은 태평양의 섬나라 필리핀으로 갑니다.

People there are bracing for super-typhoon Hagupit. 

필리핀 사람들은 슈퍼 태풍 하구핏에 대비하고 있습니다.

The word means "lash" in Philippino.

하구핏은 필리핀 말로 '채찍질'이라는 뜻입니다.

Forecasters aren`t sure where exactly it`ll go.

태풍의 진로를 정확하게 예측하지 못하고 있습니다.

Something it will make a right turn and move north along the eastern Philippines.

오른쪽으로 방향을 튼 다음 필리핀 동부를 따라 북쪽으로 움직일 것 같습니다.

Other think, it will hit the city of Tacloban over the weekend.

주말동안 타클로반 시를 강타할 것입니다.

We`ve mentioned that place before.

타클로반은 전에도 보도하였습니다.

When super typhoon Haiyan hit Tacloban last year, it killed 6,000 people and wiped out entire neighborhoods.

지난 해 슈퍼 태풍이 타클로반을 강타하였을 때 500명이 사망하고 주변지역을 초토화시켰습니다.

Evacuations have started ahead of Hagupit.

하구핏에 대비한 피난난이 시작되었습니다.

It has sustained winds of 178 miles per hour, it`s the equivalent of a category five hurricane. 

태풍은 시속 286킬로미터를 유지하고 있으며 이는 태풍 5등급에 해당합니다.
